The inheritance of Bulungan Kingdom and Old Mosque | Print |

Located along Kayan River at Tanjung Village, Tanjung Palas subdistrict. This bulungan Kingdom Palace was dig up since 1965 during PKI (Indonesian Communist Party), so the history outhentication is the old Masque, the funeral of Datuk Djalaludin and this family, this place can be reached by aero plane (samarinda-Tanjung Selor), the continues the trip by river boat to Tanjung Palas about 5 minute. Tanjung Palas is across Tanjung Selor.

Lumbis Subdistrict lies at hinterland of Sembakung River, with the capital Atap. It is about 215 Km from tarakan to Atap. The Northern part of this area is contingous with East Sabah/Malaysia, the citizens are mostly of Tagel Tribe, Tenggalan Tribe, and Berusu Tribe. They live traditional life as farmers.

We can go to this place by river boat (Tarakan-Atap/Mensalong).
 

 
Long Peso or Long Bia | Print |

Located along Kayan River, this is the capital of Long Peso Subdistrict. This village is settled by Dayak Lepo Kulit Tribe, popular with its culture and rich forest produce. This becomes transit village for hinterland people coming from headwaters.

It takes about 8 hours travel from Tanjung Selor to Long Bia.

Located at West tarakan Subdistrict, this beach is wide with the spread out of beautiful white sand. We can watch public show every Sunday.

To reach this place. We go via village (Kampong IV) then go to the East as far as 6 Km pass through citizen’s field.
 

 
Long Pujungan | Print |

Located along Bahau River, this village becomes the capital of Pujangan Subdistrict. River are: Long Beluwe, Lembu Luu, Nao, Entaa, Liang, berau, Pangin, Balin, Mading, Lung, Lesung, Alo, Badang, Telasau, Buet, Enta Talang, Lutung, Luung, Anye, Luhung. Geng, Batu Baya, Enta Lunuk, Long Pande, Kaa Miang, Kerabang, Long Belua, Long Ulan, Toko, Kaa, Besun, Kaa Keleng, Bekai, Payang, Bulo Latung, Anye Bung, Lap, Long Mejan, Babui, Mahe, Babui Lempo, Payau, Batu Kalung, Mecuk Menat, and Salap.

Dayak Kenyah, Subtribe living at Pujangan are: Uma Lasan, bakung, Pua, Lepo Ke, Lepo maut, Uma Lung, Punan Benalui, Uma Lim, Badeng, Lepo Ngibun, and Lepo Entang. The variety of the subtribes brings the variety of the cultures.

We can go to this place by long boat (charter) frim Tanjung Selor, Long Bia, Long Pujangan.

 
Long Nawang | Print |

Located at the side of the branch of Kayan, it is contiguous with Serawak. Long Nawang is the capital of Kayan Hulu Subdistrict, 570 Km from astray, having history authentication of colonization, market by the existence of Dutch Barrack and the funeral of the King of Dayak Kenyah Tribe. Up to now Dayak Kenyah

Tribe still live a traditional live and stay in Long Houses. The most popular dances are: Gantar, Gong, War dance, Hudoq, Leleng, etc.

This place can be reached by aero plane (samarinda-Long Nawang), or passing through tarakan by MAF aero plane.

 
Long Bawan (Krayan) | Print |

Located at a hilly area, close to Malaysia, Long Bawan is the capital of Krayan Subdistrict. Here lives the Lundaya Tribe, having popular cultural characteristic such as: a traditional ceremony of Buaya Lambang, Nui Ulung, Perisanang dance, and Berituban.

Krayan Subdistrict is popular with its dense population of breed and becomes the rice barm as well as salt producer from 23 well of salt source.

We can go here by aero plane (tarakan-Long Bawan), for about an hour traveling.
