Lake Melintang and Lake Semayang | Print |

Lake Melintang is located at Kota Bangun Subdistrict, about 11.000 ha wide. Called ‘melintang’ because this lake lies athwart (means ‘melintang’ in Indonesia) at Pela Village. This lake is rich with river fish. The other lakes are: Lake Wis (750 ha), Lake Kendang Murung (750 ha), Lake Nusa Katung (100 ha), Lake Seguntur (75 ha), Lake Loa Kang (about 450 ha).

Lake Semayang lies at Semayang Village, about 13.000 ha. This lake also produces river fish.

Lake around this are: Lake Kahoi Pongkoi (about 175 ha), Lake Pirau (about 100 ha), Lake Kojo (about 100 ha), Lake Puan Rabuk (about 30 ha), Lake Kahoi (about 20 ha), and Lake Loa Maon (about 100 ha).

Visitors can visit those lakes by river boat (Samainda Kota Bangun), then from Kota Bangun-Lake Melintang they can charter ketinting (small boat).
